kWh (Kilowatt-Hour)

A unit of energy that measures battery capacity in electric vehicles.

Kilowatt-hours indicate how much energy an EV battery can store, similar to gallons of fuel. A 100 kWh battery holds enough energy to power a 100 kW motor for one hour at full load. Efficiency is measured in miles per kWh (or Wh/mi), with typical EVs achieving 3-4 miles per kWh. Larger batteries provide more range but add weight and cost.
