Rear Wheel Steering

A system that turns the rear wheels to improve low-speed maneuverability and high-speed stability.

At low speeds, the rear wheels turn opposite to the fronts, reducing the turning circle. At high speeds, they turn the same direction, effectively lengthening the wheelbase and improving stability. The Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 812, and Mercedes S-Class all offer rear-wheel steering, with some systems offering up to 10 degrees of articulation.
