Traction Control
An electronic system that prevents wheel spin by reducing engine power or applying brakes.
Traction control monitors wheel speed sensors. When slip is detected, it intervenes by cutting ignition, closing the throttle, or braking the spinning wheel. Modern systems allow adjustable slip thresholds for track use. While essential for safety on public roads, many sports cars offer switchable or multi-stage traction control for skilled drivers.
