Turbocharger
A forced induction device that uses exhaust gases to spin a turbine, compressing intake air for more power.
Turbochargers increase engine efficiency by recovering waste energy from exhaust gases. The exhaust spins a turbine connected to a compressor, which forces more air into the engine. More air means more fuel can be burned, producing more power from the same displacement. Modern turbos use variable geometry vanes, twin-scroll housings, and ball bearings to minimize turbo lag.
